Wedding Planning & Ideas

We all know that spring is a season of fresh beginnings; the weather is usually quite nice in the spring as well, so what better time is there to have a wedding! When planning for your spring wedding, you will want to choose colors that reflect the fresh feeling of the season. There are many beautiful colors that would be great for a spring wedding; from pastels to brights.
One idea would be to have a ‘Rainbow’ wedding. You would simply choose 4 or 5 pastel shades, (like pink, blue, lavender, sage green and yellow) and have each of your bridesmaids wear a different color. Then use varied shades of these colors in the flowers and ribbons needed to tie it all together. This use to be a popular spring wedding theme and it is starting to come back in style. This option makes the matching thing much less stressing too.
Another way to go would be to choose one main color and just use different shades of that color throughout your decor. For example, let’s say you choose purple; you could have your bridesmaids wear lavender dresses, and then use a slightly darker shade of purple in the bouquets.
Then use a dusty lilac paper for the invitations and place cards and such.
Or, pick a bright color and tone it down with a neutral color. I love a nice deep pink, so you could use that as the main color in your bridesmaid’s dresses. Then accent it with shades of white, ivory, tan and beige. Another one of my favorite spring wedding color combos is pastel pink and mint green.
So now that you have ideas to think about for your colors, what about flowers? Spring brides probably have it better than any other bride since spring is an ideal time for flowers. There are almost endless varieties available this time of year. Roses are always a popular choice for brides, no matter the season, however more varieties are available in the spring. Tulips are nice too and can give a wedding a wonderful fresh spring feeling and they come in many beautiful colors. Daffodils give off a joy and cheerfulness with a bright yellow color that just ‘yells’ spring. Anemones are a unique and lovely flower in the daffodil family, they also come in lots of pastel and jewel toned colors perfect for springtime bouquets.
OK, so now what about favors? One idea would be to play up the spring garden theme and hand out personalized wild flower seed packets to your guests. They will take them home as a lasting tribute to your wedding. Perhaps include a little love quote such as "All the flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today. Take these seeds and plant with care, with the blooms our love you’ll share"
Then when it is time to say goodbye, have your guests shower you with rose petals in lieu of the more common bird seed or bubbles. Or you could opt to release white doves and/or live butterflies. Either of these options makes a beautiful ending and wonderful photo opportunity. Best wishes and Happy Planning!
