The wedding ring is
one of the most recognized symbols of marriage today. While nearly
70 percent of all brides do receive an engagement ring, few people
are aware of the considerations that go into selecting one. Most jewelers refer
to the four criteria of diamonds as 'The Four C's': Cut, Clarity,
Color and Carat. Although the traditional shape for most diamond
rings is round, more contemporary cuts such as marquise, pear-shaped
and heart-shaped are gaining popularity. Many brides today
choose a gemstone over a diamond for their engagement ring. While
the choices range from emeralds to rubies and sapphires, it's best
to consult your jeweler about the characteristics of each gem. |
